I cant tell u how much this post has meant to me. Just a few months back, my daughter has been diagonised as dyslexic, the only thing is she is 12 and in the 7th grade. I have gone thru all those emotions and situations u ahve described and believe me, I can fully understand what u mean when u say that she gave u the look of pain when u took her to task. I have done the same and then killed myself with guilt.
Dagny, I just want to know how to go about the remedial education. Could u give me the contact adds or telephone nos of these centres. I dont want to waste any more time as she has already gone thru enough.

BTW, I too lived in Borivli from 1970-74. Dont remember much, but the name of the building was " NEELA". We moved to the South when my parents got transferred, but a lot of my childhood memories are bound up with Borivli

Enid Blyton was my favorite author too and I too would beg or borrow to read books written by her.
Your post rekindled memories of my childhood.
At one time, I had most of the books of The St Clares and Malory Towers series.

The Case of the abandoned helmet

That was nice and humorous. Reminded me of my husbands old helmet from the 80's. He too hasent been able to discard it over the years and though we have left it in the open cellar for years, no one has had the heart to take it away from us. Actually, we had forgotten about itm till the helmet rule came thru recently and when a neighbour needed a helmet urgently, I remembered it and very generously gave it to him. Though i told him not to bother to return it, he, very promptly ensured that we got it back by the next week, when the fresh stock of helmets arrived in the market and he was able to get one of his own. I really dont know whether he used it:-)
